Work is awkward
Today a nurse from my hospital came in a purchased a fake cement angel.
“Hi, did you find everything ok?” *continue to ring up her purchase*
“Yeah, one of my patients died this week so I’m buying an angel for the family.”
“You know you’re one if the nurses that’s watched me while my kidneys failed. It’s been a few years.”
“Oh cool! What made your kidneys fail?”
“My chemo. I had Leukemia but my treatments ended a few weeks ago.”
“Wow that’s great news. Don’t die!”
“Have a nice day! Bye.”
Everyone apparently stopped to listen and stare at us. The next three transactions said absolutely nothing and looked at the floor.
